MagCAD Wahoo Elemnt Bolt V2.1 Tether
IMPORTANT: A running change has been made to the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt V2 device that means there are now two versions of tether. The version you require can be determined from either the serial number or a visual check of the tether recess on the back of the device.

Overview
A tether for the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt (V2) computers. Attaches to the recess on the back of your device with the M2 screw (provided). The lanyard can then be secured to your handlebars before each ride, reducing the risk of accidently dropping your device.
This tether is designed specifically for the Bolt (V2), launched in May 2021, featuring a colour screen and slightly larger size. This V2.1 tether is for devices manufactured after July 2024 and serial numbers following 43242600001.

Application
Fitting the tether is a simple process:
- Clean any dirt or debris out from the tether recess on the back of your device.
- Push the 3D printed tether block into the recess on the back of your device. The block should be a tight fit and sit flush with the back face of the device.
- Secure the 3D printed tether block with the countersunk M2 screw, supplied. A Pozidrive screwdriver should be used to install the screw. Using a Philips (cross head) screwdriver risks rounding the screw head.
- Ensure the screw sits flush with the 3D printed tether block and avoid overtightening.
- NOTE: The first time you install a tether into your Wahoo device the screw will cut a thread into the plastic hole. Therefore, you should apply some forward pressure at the same time as rotating the screw to allow the new thread to be cut. If the screw doesn't finish flush; remove it, clear out the hole and reinstall.
Before each ride loop the lanyard around your handlebars and install the computer onto its mount. The adjuster gives you an alternative way of securing to your bike as well as a way of keeping the cords tidy.
The lanyard is approx. 200mm in total length; long enough to suit the majority of installations without having lots of extra length on display. If you have particularly wide aero handlebars the tether may not be long enough to loop around the bar in the normal way. But it should be possible to attach it to something else like a cable or computer mount as an alternative.
