MagCAD Garmin 1050 GoPro Roval Rapide / Alpinist II Mount

Overview
This mount is a slight variation of our very popular Garmin 1040 Specialized Mount and Garmin 1040 Roval Alpinist Mount, subtly modified to fit the latest Roval Rapide and Roval Alpinist II integrated cockpit. The design is specific to the Roval Rapide cockpit; featuring a lower device position, reduced frontal area and modified contacting face.
When fitted to the Roval Rapide cockpit your computer tilts backwards approximately 4 degrees from horizontal. When fitted to the Roval Alpinist II cockpit your computer tilts backwards approx. 6 degrees from horizontal. This subtle tilt dramatically reduces screen glare, a common issue highlighted with the OEM Roval mount. Exact position and angle will vary depending on several factors.
The mount is extremely strong and stiff, keeping your device securely positioned in front of your handlebars. It weighs 32 grams (with hardware) compared with 52 grams for the OEM Garmin GoPro Roval Mount, a 20 gram (38%) weight saving.
This design has been subtly modified, now 7mm longer than the previous 1040 version, to suit the new Garmin Edge 1050. It remains compatible with all other Garmin Edge devices. Please note there is a shorter version of this mount designed for the smaller Garmin Edge devices.
A GoPro lug has been added underneath for maximum flexibility, allowing you to mount additional devices such as cameras and lights underneath your computer without cluttering the rest of your handlebars. This version mount has the GoPro lug positioned further back to improve mount strength and offer a better position for front lights.
Please note: This mount will not fit the Roval Rapide handlebars and separate alloy Specialized stem. Nor will it fit the discontinued Roval Alpinist SL (2020-2024) cockpit. It is only compatible with the Roval Rapide and Alpinist II integrated cockpits.
Application
Fitting the MagCAD mount is a simple process. Simply screw the mount into the threaded insert on the underside of your Roval Rapide or Roval Alpinist II cockpit and tighten to 2.7Nm (torque specified by Specialized). We recommend using a thread locking compound before installing the screw and periodically check the screw remains tight and secure.
Our Roval Rapide / Alpinist II combination mounts are now supplied with a titanium M4 screw to secure the mount to the handlebars, improving strength over the OEM Roval mount.
Please Note: When mounting multiple devices off one mount we recommend using a tether just for extra security.
All Garmin Edge devices come with a lanyard for extra security. We recommend using this lanyard alongside our MagCAD mount to avoid any risk of damage due to incorrect assembly or mis-use.
